Four-Time #SooI500 Winner, John Wicht III and former rider, Isaac Wolfgang to once again serve as Pit Road Reporters

Marie,Michigan (December 15th, 2022): The International 500 Snowmobile Race Board of Directors are very happy to announce that the Voices of the #SooI500 for the past Seven Years, Matt Prieur and Lorne (Spanky) Robinson, will both return to the Broadcast Booth for Owosso Speedway Proudly Presents: The 55th Running of the International 500 Snowmobile Race Week Powered by Wheeler Trucking, which is set for Sunday, January 28th-February 3rd, 2024 LIVE on FloRacing
Additionally, Four-Time #SooI500 Winner and the only man ever in the history of the event to win it by himself, John Wicht II returns for his Fourth Year as Pit Road Reporter and will be joined by another former I-500 rider, Isaac Wolfgang, who returns for his Fourth stint after debuting on the broadcast in 2019, for the most prestigious snowmobile race in the world
Veteran Public Address Announcer as well as Radio & Television Broadcaster for the past 34 years, Prieur returns to the Soo for the Eighth year in a row as the lead voice of the #SooI500 The 49-year-old also serves as the Director of Communications for the prestigious event. Prieur, originally from Flint, MI and currently resides in Westerville, OH, works for the Performance Racing Network (PRN) serving as a Pit Road Reporter during select NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series events
Prieur is best known as the voice of several national and regional motorsports touring series’ and events on both dirt and pavement surfaces for the past 34 years throughout the United States and Canada. During the 2024 racing season, you’ll find Prieur up in the Booth and on Pit Road calling events for the SRL National Super Late Model Tour as well as the Reveal The Hammer Outlaw Super Late Model Series, Midwest Modifieds Tour Powered by Wheeler Trucking and several major short track events throughout the country
During the winter months, Prieur also serves as the Voice of the Metro Jets Hockey Club for both the Metro Jets (#MetroJets) and the Metro Jets Development Program (#MJDP) within the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL). Prieur has been the recipient of the USPHL Broadcaster of the Year Award on two occasions
Joining Prieur up in the booth is Robinson. Affectionately known as “Spanky”, is a Desbarats, ONT resident and also returns to the #SooI500 for the Eighth year in a row. Robinson was a crew member on the 1989 #SooI500 winning team of George Sharrard, Tom Sibbald and Jeff Kipfmiller. The 63-year-old has also been the Color Commentary Voice of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for their home games since the 2005/2006 hockey season
Anoka, MN Legend, Wicht III, who has won the #SooI500 Four Times over his Hall of Fame career, good for Fourth all-time in event history, is back as Pit Road Reporter for the Fourth year in a row. His resume and immense knowledge of snowmobile enduro racing speaks for itself. All four of his #SooI500 victories (1988, 1992, 1993 & 1995), the now 60-year-old won those events riding by himself! A feat that will never again be accomplished
Wolfgang, who calls Breckenridge, MI home, joins Wicht III on Pit Road for his second stint behind the mic. The 39-year-old (who turns 40 on January 27th, 2024) was part of the #21 Cadarette Collision Racing Team for the 2020 #SooI500. Prior to that, he had briefly retired from active competition after the 2018 #SooI500 riding with Yovich Racing and scoring a Fifth place finish. Before 2018, Wolfgang raced with Skid Row Racing & Eckert Racing and earned Two more Top Five finishes with Skid Row including a career best Second place finish in the 2011 I-500
In addition, Dave Johnston and Ted Wolfgang are also on the Broadcast Team serving in a number of roles throughout Race Week and including Co-Directors on Race Day
