In 2018 during race week of the #SooI500 sled heads embarked on the community of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, which commenced promotion of the record breaking attempt.  The Americans attempt fell short by 51 snowmobiles at 997.

It was then determined that a second attempt must follow in 2019.  Hence, it was unanimous when considering to move forward with plans to break the record in 2019 during race week scheduled for the 51st running of the worlds most exciting snowmobile endurance race, the SOO I-500.

In support of this attempt, the SOO I-500 is promoting the event calling all snowmobilers who are from the USA to consider participating in the parade in hopes of crushing the current record held by Canada.
